Owned by New York-based Apollo Real Estate Advisors and its partner in the Stoneleigh Hotel, Dallas-based Prescott Realty Group, Apollo has appointed Austin-based La Corsha Hospitality Group, spearheaded by hotelier Jeff Trigger, to oversee the hotels' restorations and management.
"They will never build another St. Anthony or Stoneleigh in their respective markets," says Trigger, who was named by Leaders Magazine as one of Dallas' top hospitality managing directors. "These historic properties are worth reinvestment and restoration efforts."
The 171-unit Stoneleigh Hotel will undergo $25 million worth of improvements that will include adding a 5,200-sf spa and refurbishing guest rooms and restaurant, bar and lobby areas. Construction will begin this summer and include a 110-unit, 22-story luxury condominium component called The Tower Residences, to be built adjacent to the hotel. A grand re-opening is scheduled for summer of 2007.
Extensive refurbishments on the St. Anthony Hotel, which will remain open during construction, will commence later this year and should be completed by summer of 2008. Hotel management will transfer from Wyndham Hotels and Resorts to La Corsha but will remain under the Wyndham flag and historic designation.
