The law firm of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr inked the deal at the 291,000-sf, 11-story office building in the heart of Boston's Financial District with building owner Transwestern Investment Co. Terms of that transaction were not disclosed.
"The space at the Broad Street location is an excellent way for us to expand case room needs close to our 60 State St. offices in a competitive commercial real estate market," Joel Sirkin, partner and chair of the Real Estate Department at WilmerHale, says in a statement announcing the lease signing.
The firm plans to retain its Boston headquarters at 60 State St. and use the 40 Broad St. office space solely for case rooms. Bill Barrack and Bill Collins, both with Jones Lang LaSalle's Boston office, handled the transaction on behalf of WilmerHale. Brad McGill, also with Jones Lang LaSalle, represented the building's owner.
