BOSTON- American Public Television will stay in its 11,998 sf of headquarters space at 55 Summer St. in Boston under a lease renewal that keeps the firm in the same fourth-floor space it has leased for the past four years. American Public Television provides programming for the nation's public television stations.

John Butterworth, with Meredith & Grew, tells GlobeSt.com that the firm took an early five-year lease renewal in an extension that will keep the firm in the building until 2011. "It was a win-win situation for both landlord and tenant," says Butterworth, who negotiated the transaction for American Public Television.

Terms of the lease were not disclosed but similar office space in Boston's Financial District generally leases in the mid-to high-$30 per sf range, says Butterworth.

Built in 1976, the 124,000 sf, 10-story, Class A office building is about 87% leased by firms that include CVS, Yahoo and Maximus Inc. The transaction was handled for landlord H.N. Gorin by Gorin's Asset Manager Kristian Gibson.
