SHARON, MA-Construction has begun on a $30-million, nearly 100,000-sf car dealership on Route 1 South here that will create one of the largest Lexus dealerships.

Designed by architect Mark Regent, with Regent Associates in Westborough, and built by Suffolk Construction Co., of Boston, the Herb Chambers Lexus dealership will feature a Main Street-style layout along a central avenue, which will feature glass-walled mini-showrooms, each featuring different Lexus models.

The building, which is scheduled to be completed in May, will include a 200-ft skylight with interior stone, polished tile and mahogany accents as well as two customer lounges, a covered structure over both the main entrance and service department and an indoor simulated driving range. The service department will feature 50 service bays with two high-speed oil change bays, two touchless car washes and an air-conditioned repair shop. The dealership, which will be one of the largest Lexus dealerships in the state, will have the capacity to house up to 1,500 cars.
