CANTON, MA-A distributor of nails and fasteners has acquired a 60,000-sf building on more than eight acres in Canton for $3.9 million. The deal gives the new owner an additional 40,000 sf of expansion space for its growing business.

Northeast Wholesale Nail & Fastener Supply Co., a nail and fastener distributor serving independent lumber yards and tool houses, acquired the 980 Turnpike St. property from ERB Realty Trust after looking at properties in Braintree, Stoughton and Randolph, Peter Brown, leasing director for Campanelli Cos., of Braintree, tells GlobeSt.com.

"We see this as an opportunity to establish ourselves as one of the leaders in building supply distribution in the Northeast," John Hurwitz of Northeast Wholesale says in a statement announcing the acquisition. The property is comprised of 40,000 sf of 25-ft high clear warehouse space, with 10,000 sf of first class office and 10,000 sf of flex space.

Brown represented Northeast Wholesale in the acquisition while Gian Starita of Lincoln Property Co. handled the transaction for the seller and represented the property's former tenant, Arlington Industries.
