PARAMUS, NJ-AmeriCold Realty Trust has entered into an agreement to acquire four refrigerated warehouses from ConAgra Foods Inc., and to lease a fifth facility. The aggregate purchase price is $190 million: $152 million in cash to ConAgra, and $38 million for the lease of the fifth facility. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.

AmeriCold Realty Trust is jointly owned by three companies: locally based Vornado Realty Trust (47.6%), Fort Worth-based Crescent Real Estate Equities Co. (31.7%) and Los Angeles-based Yucaipa Cos. (20.7%). AmeriCold is the largest third-party provider of temperature-controlled warehouse space in North America.

The five refrigerated warehouses are located in Atlanta, Fort Worth, Victorville, CA, York, PA and Rochelle, IL. They have 1.7 million sf between them, and 48.9 million cubic feet of storage space. All were built less than three years ago.
