LONDON-Mike Rowan has been tapped to head GE Real Estate in the UK. Rowan, currently employed by GE Real Estate in the US, will take over from Alec Burger, who has transferred to the US to lead GE Real Estate’s North American lending division.

Rowan, who led GE Real Estate’s specialized industries division in the States, will be responsible for overseeing all UK operations. He joins at a time when the UK team is extremely active. It has recently completed the acquisitions of the Ark in London’s Hammersmith and the Manchester Arena. Over the past two years the UK division has spent about euro 1.47 billion ($1.89 billion) on acquisitions.
