CHICAGO-Local development firms Urban Retail Properties and Landmark Properties have joined to begin co-developing six new specific properties throughout the country, with options for additional future projects. While the property types will vary per project, each will consist of lifestyle, mixed-use, entertainment and power centers.

The new LLC will be known as Urban/Landmark. Ross Glickman, CEO of Urban Retail, says the companies' philosophies are similar, but the two firms bring distinct strengths to the venture: site selection, planning and retail design strengths of Landmark Properties, and Urban Retail's industry knowledge in development, management and leasing.

"We are passionate about this relationship," adds Randall Langer, principal of Landmark Properties. "This new partnership will allow us to bring new and inventive retail and entertainment concepts to the marketplace."

Urban/Landmark will have a concentration in Memphis; Frederick, CO; Hillside, IL; Fairburn, GA; Hoffman Estates, IL; and Hartland, MI. Some of the projects will feature Grizzly Falls Resorts, a 150,000-sf indoor waterpark entertainment complex. The 400-room all-suite resorts will be geared toward to families and include adolescent-themed suites, family food courts and spas.
