Forcum comes to the real estate services provider with experience in both tenant and landlord representation. He was previously a senior broker with the local office of Grubb & Ellis. Koziak brings his experience as an office tenant representation specialist and was previously director of leasing for the local office of Grubb & Ellis. McRae was previously director of leasing for Crescent Resources LLC.

"The Greater Nashville market has shown dynamic growth, and we are pleased to have market leaders Buck Forcum, David Koziak and David McRae join our growing family of international real estate advisors," says Ed Friedman, Newmark Knight Frank executive vice president and principal-Global Brokerage & Advisory Services.

New York-based Newmark Knight Frank set its sight on Nashville because the city has increased its national profile, highlighted by Nissan North America's decision to relocate its national headquarters here from Los Angeles, as GlobeSt.com previously reported.

McRae cites Nissan's move across the country as a reason behind the new office, but says it is not the only reason. "There have been at least 10 other, less-publicized major businesses relocating here during the past 18 months," McRae says, "all of them drawn by the area's quality of life, cost of living and doing business, educated work force, strategic location and quality highway transportation infrastructure."

Forcum adds Nissan's move has fueled office activity. "And as a result, the market is actually experiencing a shortage of space in some very tight submarkets, especially for larger blocks of space--creating challenges for prospective tenants and perhaps some opportunities for developers," he explains.

The new office brings the total number of offices to approximately 150 globally for Newmark Knight Frank and its London-based partner Knight Frank. The offices are located in six continents. "The first item on our agenda is to educate prospective clients about the strength of the Newmark Knight Frank organization globally," says Koziak.
