To that end, Golf Galaxy also will expand its GolfWorks store-within-a-store services subsidiary chainwide within the next eight weeks, retrofitting existing units. Currently, the chain offers services (including clubmaking and in-store lessons) in half of its stores.
"The integration of the GolfWorks concept across our entire store base creates another level of opportunity to further differentiate Golf Galaxy," Zanath said. "We're more excited than ever about our business."
Net sales for the second quarter of fiscal 2007 increased 37.4% to $95.6 million. Comparable store sales rose 0.8% for the quarter, the company's 14th consecutive quarter of such increases. The chain reported net income for the second quarter of $7 million, versus net income of $5.4 million in the previous year.
