YORK, PA-A grant of nearly $5.7 million from the Commonwealth's Infrastructure Facilities Improvement Program has been awarded to help complete improvements to the road network serving York Town Center. As GlobeSt.com previously reported, the 291,000-sf shopping center is a joint venture between Lancaster-based High Real Estate Group and Chattanooga, TN-based CBL & Associates Properties Inc.
The infrastructure grant was awarded to the Springettsbury Township Development Authority on behalf the High Real Estate and CBL, according to a statement by Gov. Ed Rendell. It will be dispersed over a 10-year period in equal installments of $568,392. The project calls for lengthening the Route 30 ramps near the development site.
The center is scheduled to open in September 2007. Although representatives of the JV declined to tell GlobeSt.com the estimated cost of the center, the state's press release puts the value at $49 million.
H. Stephen Evans, managing director of High Real Estate, says leasing has now reached 90%. Christmas Tree Shops, which is an affiliate of Bed Bath & Beyond, and On The Border, a Mexican-style restaurant, have joined the mix. The anchors are a 50,000-sf Dick's Sporting Goods, 45,000-sf Best Buy, 30,000-sf Ross Dress for Less, 28,000-sf Bed Bath & Beyond and 20,000-sf Staples. Tenants in the 84,000 sf of small shops include Ulta Cosmetics, Chili's and Longhorn Steakhouse.
