Qatari Diar Signs up for 1M-SF Sudanese Project

KHARTOUM-Qatari Diar will develop a 1-million-sf mixed-use project on the banks of the Blue Nile opposite the Presidential Palace.

KHARTOUM-Qatari Diar Real Estate has signed a strategic investment agreement with the Sudanese Government that will see the company develop a major tourist and residential resort on the banks of the Blue Nile in this Sudanese capital. The ground-breaking accord was signed in the Qatari capital, Doha, between Nasser Hassan Al Ansari, CEO of Qatari Diar, and the Sudanese minister of physical planning and public utilities, Abdul Wahab Mohammed Uthman.

“This is a vote of confidence by Qatari Diar in the future of Sudan and a signal to the world that this country can attract major overseas investment,” says the Qatari Diar CEO. “The agreement marks the entry of Qatari Diar into the Sudanese market, where we are investigating further development opportunities.”
