Shimon Shkury, partner at Massey Knakal, says that while the building has been on the market less than two weeks, there has been a large amount of interest in the building already. "Looking at what is available [in the market] this is one of the only vacant 19-story building that will be available for many years." He categorizes the interested parties into three types, nonprofits, rental firms and major development companies.
There is no specific timetable for closing the deal or even accepting bids, Shkury tells GlobeSt.com. The asking price was not disclosed. But should the property go to a condo developer, the average area price is $1,200 per sf. Shkury says it is difficult to name a figure a nonprofit would pay.
The building is 100% vacant because several years ago the owners sold the nursing home housed in the facility.
