KANSAS CITY, MO-Alberta Development Partners LLC of Greenwood Village, CO has tapped LANE4 Property Group to provide retail brokerage services for two local redevelopment projects totaling 3.2 million sf. The LANE4 team, led by Owen Buckley, is charged with finding tenants for the proposed redevelopment of Metcalf South in Overland Park, KS, and Metro North Mall in Kansas City, MO.
Buckley tells GlobeSt.com that his firm has begun contacting retailers and that the information gathered from prospective tenants will help shape the redevelopment plans and designs. "We view the redevelopment of MetCalf South and Metro North as two very significant Kansas City retail projects," says the LANE4 president. "To be selected to market these two landmark locations and cutting-edge redevelopments is…a very exciting assignment for LANE4."
Alberta Development Partners, which has been working with design partners Callison Architecture, of Seattle, and Communication Arts of Boulder, CO, says that it expects to submit conceptual plans for both projects early next year. Metcalf South will be transformed into the Streets of Metcalf, a 1.1-million-sf mixed-use project combining upscale boutiques, national and local retail shops, an entertainment complex, office space, residential units and a hotel. Meanwhile, the Streets at Barrytowne is the redevelopment of the Metro North Mall with 2.1 million sf of retail, residential, restaurant and entertainment space, including a theater as well as a commons area for community events and park-like areas. Investment firm Morgan Dreiseszun currently owns both centers.
Buckley formed LANE4 Property Group earlier this year to focus on shopping center properties and retailer representation throughout the Midwest. Over the past 20 years, the company's brokers have led in the leasing, sale and development of more than 20 million sf of retail properties throughout Kansas City and the surrounding eight-state area. "Their experience and expertise along with their existing relationships with the nation's leading retailers enables our team to bring the best collection of tenants to the Streets at Metcalf and the Streets at Barrytowne," says Don Provost, principal of Alberta Development Partners.
