Condo Activity Heats Up in S. Florida

HOLLYWOOD, FL-There is no doubt that multifamily is a main property type in South Florida, highlighted by the number of condo conversions and condo-hotels rising in the region. But the development of another type of condo, the office condo , is increasing, and plans for new mixed-use developments are hitting the drawing boards everyday.

Industry insiders will discuss these trends, as well as try to answer several questions–is the multifamily housing bubble about to burst; do landlords have the upper hand over tenants in today’s office market–at the first RealShare South Florida conference to be held Dec. 6 at the Hollywood Hard Rock Hotel.

The event is expected to draw 150 to 300 attendees from a broad range of real estate disciplines, including developers, investors, brokers and lenders, says Richard Kelley, director of the Real Estate Media Conference series. “We’re gathering the market leaders in one place for a half day. They’ll come away with a better understanding of where the market is going,” Kelley says. “But it’s also an excellent opportunity for networking and to possible get deals done.”
