Construction of the hotel, which will be owned and operated by Zieg Hospitality of Jacksonville, Inc., is expected to begin in February, Joyce Development Group president John Joyce tells GlobeSt.com. "Having Hotel Indigo as part of the project is important," Joyce says. "The hotel element is a key piece to the mixed-use project."
Site work on the first phase of Tapestry Park began in September. In addition to the hotel, the first phase of the project includes 52 townhomes, which are being developed by Birmingham, AL-based Arlington Properties. Tapestry Park also will include 41,000 sf of retail space, 16,000 sf of office condominium space and a lakeside restaurant, all of which are being developed by Joyce Development Group. "We're hoping to have all the components of Phase 1 completed by late summer 2007," Joyce says.
Work on Phase 2, which is currently planned by Arlington Properties for approximately 275 residential units, is scheduled to begin in June 2007.
Hotel Indigo is a member of the InterContinental Hotels Group family. The Jacksonville hotel will be the brand's eighth hotel and third in Florida. Hotel Indigo Sarasota opened in October and a Fort Myers location is expected to open at the end of 2007.
