"I am privileged to have the opportunity to lead this company at this point in its history," says Davoren in a statement. "With the support of a highly talented leadership team and staff, Turner is positioned to take new approaches and face the challenges in the industry head-on while maintaining the same core values of teamwork, integrity and commitment that our company's founder, Henry C. Turner, put in place over 100 years ago."

To push the company into the New Year, Davoren assembled an eight-person leadership team. According to the company's website, members of the team include Nicholas Billotti, William Brennan, John DiCiurcio, Pat Di Filippo, Wilfried Eckert, Kenneth Leach, Rodney Michalka and Stuart Robinson.

"The company is continuously evolving to meet new challenges and I believe that the company's best years are ahead of us," Davoren says.

In August 2006, Thomas Leppert made public his plans to resign as chairman and CEO. In a statement at the time, Leppert said, "I have enjoyed my time at Turner and been gratified by the strides taken by the organization, especially the moves into new areas. However, to put it simply, at this stage of my life I want to do other things, including in the areas of individual investments and contributing to my faith and the community, both of which I am passionate."

Turner is the largest subsidiary of HOCHTIEF, a construction service provider. In 2006, the company's construction volume reached $8 billion, up from 2005's $7.4 billion. Turner Construction is the company chosen by Tishman Speyer to build the new Yankee's baseball stadium, which is projected to be opened in time for the 2009 season. The company has also constructed a number of other sports facilities, including New Soldier Field in Chicago, Qwest Field in Seattle and Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Turner did not meet GlobeSt.com's deadline for comment.
