LAS VEGAS-Casino gaming revenue from the Las Vegas Strip in November was $642.1 million, up 22.4% from November 2005, the state Gaming Control Board said on Thursday. Gaming revenue statewide during the month was up 14.1% to $1.14 billion, according to the report. The government's take, $75.3 million, is up 19%.
The results are a marked improvement from October, when gaming revenue from the Strip was off 5% from the year-earlier period to $532.19 million and statewide revenue was virtually unchanged at $1.06 billion. The November results pushed the Fiscal 2007 year-to-date (July 1 to Nov. 31) numbers to $2.78 billion from the Strip and $5.29 billion statewide, respectively 6.97% and 5.45% ahead of 2005.
In Washoe County, which includes the neighboring cities of Reno and Sparks, November gaming revenue was $80.85 million or 3.6% below the same 2005 period. Revenue in Sparks was actually up 5.33% to $13.6 million while revenue fell in Reno by 6.84% to approximately $80.85 million. In South Lake Tahoe, revenue was off 6.13% to $22.70 million.
