CEDARBURG, WI-Amcast Industrial Corp. plans to shed approximately 215,000-sf of excess office and industrial space on Hamilton Road in this community of 11,500 people that's 20 minutes north of Milwaukee. Amcast has tapped Great Neck, NY-based Keen Realty to market the property, which will be sold at a Feb. 13 auction in Indianapolis. Amcast, a Dayton, OH-based wheel manufacturer, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The property includes a 175,000-sf manufacturing facility and a 30,000-sf office building on 8.4 acres and is divided into two parcels. The 4-acre north parcel, the location of the manufacturing building, has been zoned as a residential district. The 4.4-acre south parcel, the location of the office building, has been zoned as a mixed-use infill district.

"This is an excellent opportunity for users, developers and investors. The property is well located for continued use as an industrial/office complex or for potential redevelopment," Mike Matlat, vice president of Keen Realty, says, adding that the property will be sold as-is to the highest bidder. The transaction requires approval by the Bankruptcy Court.
