"I'm excited about the expansion of our successful joint venture with Chromalloy," says Mike Pcholinski, vice president of Pratt & Whitney's Turbine Airfoil Business, in a statement. "The increased capacity will allow us to consolidate certain production operations within our airfoil supply chain to achieve cost savings by eliminating non-value added expenses."

ACT plans to build an additional 86,000-sf building on a piece of land that abuts the current 21,500-sf facility at 109 Tower Dr. The new facility is expected to create more than 80 jobs by 2011, and helps fulfill the goal of several local politicians in reviving the Hudson Valley area.

"We have been building a relationship…to try to raise the visibility of the Hudson Valley as a good business location," says Anthony Campagiorni, president and CEO of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp., in a statement. "This ACT expansion is a prime example of how that kind of personal outreach can bear fruit and help retain and create good jobs for our region."

The Frassetto Cos. LLC, which is building a number of industrial sites in Wallkill, has been chosen to develop the new building. "The lack of quality commercial real estate is driving vacancy levels to its lowest levels in years and we are happy to be able to create a facility suitable for ACT's needs," says Christopher Frassetto, a partner with the firm. "This build-to-suit for ACT, demonstrates that large companies recognize the growth potential within the state and county."
