Wal-Mart Continues Expansions With Joliet Site

JOLIET, IL-The Joliet Wal-Mart will be expanded from a 150,000-sf store to a 221,000-sf Supercenter, as the company expands the new concept in the Chicago area.

JOLIET, IL-Wal-Mart will expand its Joliet location from a 150,000-sf Wal-Mart Discount Store to a 221,000-sf Wal-Mart Supercenter. International Contractors Inc., of Elmhurst, will be completing the $10.6-million expansion project here at 1401 Illinois Route 59.

The Wal-Mart Supercenter is scheduled to be complete by September. The expanded store will have a vision center, photo processing and an expanded lawn and garden center. The store will also have a grocery area with a bakery and delicatessen in addition to frozen food, meat, fresh produce and dairy departments. Additionally, a hair salon, fast food restaurant and bank will be located inside the Supercenter.
