Plan for City's Tallest Skyscraper Moves Forward

BOSTON-Locally based Trans National Properties was the only one to file a proposal for the 115 Winthrop Square site.

BOSTON-The Boston Redevelopment Authority has tentatively designated Trans National Properties as developer of 115 Winthrop Square. Locally based Trans National was the only group to respond to Mayor Thomas Menino’s call for a skyscraper on the site.

Current plans call for the construction of a 1.5-million-sf structure that will contain both office and retail space along with a one-acre park on the irregularly-shaped parcel at 115 Winthrop Square. The firm also owns an adjacent building at 133 Federal St.

“The Trans National team has made a significant financial commitment to the city, and they have brought a project proposal to us that would serve as a model for sustainable growth and design–a concept that the City of Boston is deeply committed to,” says Menino in a statement.
