HOUSTON-Colliers Property Management Services Co. has opened a shop with 1.2 million sf in hand.

Timothy Seckinger, president of Colliers Property Management Services, says the just-formed company got off the ground with the help of some Colliers International Inc. brokers and their seed money. "The Colliers brokerage group has a third-party management arm, but not in Houston until now," he says. "The principals of Colliers in Houston talked about this for years, but it just didn't come together for them."

According to a press release from Colliers International, Seckinger, a real estate veteran of many years, was selected for the leadership role because of his long-term property management and commercial asset background. "Tim has the energy and enthusiasm to make an impact on the Houston market," says Brad Fishman, senior vice president, general counsel and chief administrative officer with Caldwell Watson Real Estate Group, Seckinger's previous employer.

Seckinger plans to add to the five-employee staff, with an undetermined number of hires coming this year. The team is starting out with oversight for the one-million-sf-plus Alamo Crossing Commerce Center at Texas 249 and Hollister Road in northwest Houston; 135,231-sf Advo Distribution Center at 801 Seaco Court in Deer Park; and 57,000-sf 801 Congress office building in the CBD. The 92%-leased properties range from one-year-old to 30 years old. Seckinger says the only renovation planned at this stage is a facelift for 801 Congress.

"Our goal for 2007 was to bring on more than 1.6 million sf," Seckinger tells GlobeSt.com. "With the start we already have, we're three-quarters of the way there and hopefully we'll surpass two million sf."
