Architect Firm Acquires Boston Wharf Building

BOSTON-Cambridge architectural and design firm ADD Inc. will relocate its headquarters next year to Fort Point Channel now that it has acquired a 60,000-sf, six-story building for an undisclosed price from Archon/Goldman. The 311 Summer St. property is part of a cluster of old manufacturing and warehouse buildings dating back to the 1800s that were formerly owned by the Boston Wharf Co.

Buildings in the Fort Point Channel area are currently selling for between $100 and $300 per sf, depending on their condition, a broker in the Fort Point Channel area tells GlobeSt.com.

Helen Novak, with ADD, tells GlobeSt.com that the architectural firm, which assisted in the City of Boston’s One Hundred Acre master plan for the Fort Point Channel area, expects to begin remodeling the building by mid-summer.
