Bucks County received the most, an aggregate of $8 million, for two projects. The larger amount of funding is the combination of a nearly $2.9-million loan and $1.9-million grant for the US Steel Keystone Industrial Port Complex in Falls Township, which is being redeveloped into a heavy industrial business park at an overall cost of $6.4 million. The Borough of Bristol, also in Bucks, received an aggregate of nearly $3.9 million to upgrade wastewater treatment systems to accommodate increased demand from such businesses as Lenox and Zober Industries.

Nearly $7.8 million was awarded to the Latrobe Municipal Authority in Westmoreland County for construction of a pre-treatment facility to handle wastewater produced by City Brewing Co. at a former Rolling Rock Beer plant. Earlier this month, the governor provided $4.5 million in grants and loans to City Brewing.

A $5-million grant to Luzerne County supports development of the CenterPoint Commerce and Trade Park East and West sites, which consist of 6.9 million sf of commercial and industrial space. This phase of the development is expected to cost $6.7 million.

The Pocono Mountains Industrial Park Authority in Monroe County received $2.2 million for improvements to the Pocono Mountains Corporate Center-West project. Indiana County commissioners obtained just over $2.5 million to accommodate wastewater and sewer improvements serving three corporate expansion projects, and Columbia County commissioners obtained almost $1.2 million to fund improvements to the Columbia County Business Park.

In addition, Fayette and Northumberland counties received aggregate funding of nearly $1.2 million. Fayette is extending water lines to supply Shumar Industries, a mining equipment manufacturer. Northumberland is constructing a pump station in response to ConAgra Food Co.'s commitment to expand its facility. All of the funds are from the state's PennWorks program.
