Packager Set to Build New 167,000-SF HQ

SAYREVILLE, NJ-Sabert Corp. has taken a major step forward toward building a new headquarters building, signing a three-way agreement to buy the 12-acre site for the proposed facility. The site is currently owned by the Middlesex County Utilities Authority, which under the terms of the agreement will sell it to the Sayreville Economic Redevelopment Agency. The latter will then sell it to Sabert for a reported $1.9 million.

What Sabert, a manufacturer of plastic food packaging products for foodservice distribution, has in mind for the site is a $6 million, 167,000-sf facility that will house its new headquarters. Plans call for a mix of 50,000 sf of office space, including a training center. The rest of the two-story building would be used for a combination of R&D and warehouse space, according to company officials.
