CAMBRIDGE, MA-Eastern Mountain Sports will nearly double its space at One Brattle Square under a new lease deal. The outdoor specialty retailer's flagship Cambridge store will expand from 8,500 sf to 14,791 sf.
"The location gives us the accessibility we were looking for to reach both our consumer, who has been shopping with us for decades, and our younger generation of customers," says Scott Barrett, vice president and chief marketing officer for Eastern Mountain Sports, in a statement announcing.
The retailer has been in the 90,000-sf, six-story building in Harvard Square since 2003, Michael Branton, with Key Point Partners' Burlington office, tells GlobeSt.com. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
Located at the intersection of Brattle, Elliot, and Mount Auburn streets, One Brattle Square is a mixed-use office and retail property consisting of about 57,000 sf of office space and 33,148 sf of retail space on two levels, 70% of which is leased. Along with Eastern Mountain Sports, the property counts among its tenants Harvard University, which occupies the building's top two floors, according to Chris Cardoni, with Key Point.
Branton handled the leasing arrangements for the building's owner of Wells Real Estate Funds of Norcross, GA.
