ROMEOVILLE, IL-Prairie Packaging, a distributor of disposable dinnerware products, has recently signed a lease for the 491,000-sf industrial building at 815 Bluff Rd. The company is headquartered in Bedford Park and will be expanding into the additional location, says Kane Keirnan, senior vice president with Equis Corp.

The distributing business chose the newly constructed building in Romeoville because it is near the I-55 corridor, has 60 exterior docks and the ability for onsite trailer storage, Keirnan says. Approximately 7,000 sf of office space will be built out and the dock loading capacity will be increased before Prairie Packaging moves in, which is expected to be some time in the first quarter.

Keirnan would not disclose the term of the lease or the lease rate but did say that the asking rate in the area is between $3.75 per sf to $3.95 per sf. Prairie Packaging was represented by Keirnan, Marat Safir and Kevin Bryant, all with Equis Corp. Jeff Kapcheck and Lynn Reich, both with Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler, represented landlord Land and Lakes.
