Jonathan Gifford, with NAI Hunneman Commercial, tells GlobeSt.com that the firm shopped the market but opted to stay at its current location after negotiating favorable lease terms with landlord Beacon Capital Partners. "They took a look around but were happy with the building and the terms they were able to get," he says.
Terms of the lease were not disclosed but similar office space in the Back Bay generally leases in the $45 to $55 per-sf price range, Gifford says.
The 14-story, 268,000-sf office building, which lies adjacent to Copley Place, is fully leased to a number of tenants, including GE, Brigham and Women's Hospital, the Hay Group and Segal Cos.
Gifford handled the transaction for the tenant while Ali Cavanaugh, formerly with Trammell Crow's Boston office, represented the landlord in the deal.
