The $9.4 million project was constructed by Oak Brook-based Krusinski Construction Co. Joseph Krusinski was the project manager and John Becker was the project engineer. John Haggerty, of Lincolnshire-based Dobrin & Associates, was the project architect for the exterior of the facility and Keith Rabuse and Lori Ott, of Dallas-based Gromatzky Dupree and Associates, were the architects for the interior of the facility.
Comcast has signed an 11-year lease for the facility, says Mark Coffman, vice president of customer care. Coffman would not disclose the lease rate. The facility is located on approximately 8.5 acres and has parking for 536 cars. A fitness center is one of the building's perks.
Comcast chose the building "mainly because of its location," Coffman says. The facility is located near the junction Interstates 55 and 355, allowing for access for employees, and the village of Woodridge has many amenities, such as restaurants. The call center houses a total of 550 employees, including 500 customer account executives, Coffman says. The center is expected to field more than 13,000 calls daily from Illinois, northwest Indiana and southwest Michigan.
