Verizon Expanding in Michigan and Nebraska

SOUTHFIELD, MI-Verizon is expanding its office space in the Midwest, adding 30,030 sf of office space to its regional headquarters in Michigan and building a $33-million new call center in Lincoln, NE. The company will sign an addendum to its lease later this month at the First Center at 26935 Northwestern Highway in Southfield, bringing its space use at the building to nearly 143,000 sf. The company will also hire 175 employees in Southfield, adding to the 800 already at the headquarters, says a company spokeswoman.

She says jobs are coming back to the Detroit area. “This is a great market, we’ve had a lot of success here. Southfield is centrally located, it allows us to grab talent from across Metropolitan Detroit,” she tells GlobeSt.com. The new jobs will include call center employees as well as customer service and financial services representatives, coordinators, analysts, trainers, supervisors, associate directors and one manager.
