Mixed-Use Project Wins Phase One Approval

BELMAR, NJ-Gale Belmar LLC, a subsidiary of Mack-Cali Realty Corp., has received state and local approvals for the first phase of Belmar Seaport Village, with construction now slated to start by May. As reported by GlobeSt.com , site work, including demolition of existing buildings, began this past fall. The mixed-use community will build out over the next seven to 10 years with a total price tag in the neighborhood of $500 million.

The first step will be relatively modest, encompassing 38 new condo/townhouses, 9,500 sf of ground-floor retail space and 76 covered parking space. The combined uses encompass a site at 800 Main St. formerly occupied by an auto dealership in this oceanfront community. The dealership’s buildings were razed in the fall.
