Construction Starts for 721,000-SF Distribution Center

FLORENCE, NJ-Whitesell has started construction for a 721,000-sf build-to-suit distribution center building at 290 Daniels Way within its Haines Center business park here. The Delran-based Whitesell is billing the facility as the “tallest distribution center in the state.” At its tallest point the building will reach 80 feet, taller than a six-story building, according to Richard Cureton, Whitesell’s president, with product storage reaching a height of some 68 feet. The facility has been designed with varying bay sizes, utilizing a total of more than 52.7 million cubic feet of space.

“By utilizing the cube area, the site consists of 66 acres rather than the 100 acres a traditional warehouse/distribution center would require, so we are going ‘up’ rather than ‘out’,” Cureton says. “What better way to celebrate our 50th anniversary than to build a landmark in the county and impact modern distribution.”
