The center will "provide much-needed retail to this growing market," says Stephen Lebovitz, president of Chattanooga, TN-based CBL. The trade area, about 80 miles north of Orlando, is projected to grow by 13% by 2010, according to census figures provided by the developer.

Cobblestone Village, to be designed by Artech Design Group, also of Chattanooga, will be constructed in a Mediterranean-style architecture. The center will have a main street as well as parking surrounding the development.

This will be CBL's sixth center in Florida. The company opened the 1.7 million-sf Gulf Coast Town Center, in Fort Myers, last month. It also operates Volusia Mall in Daytona Beach, Panama City (FL) Mall, the nearby Shoppes At Panama City and Lakeshore Mall in Sebring.
