German IT Firm Expands, Relocates US HQ

PITTSBURGH-Equipped with $360,000 in incentives, Sycor Americas Inc. will invest $3 million to expand its North American headquarters at One Penn Center West.

PITTSBURGH-After considering Montreal, Toronto and Minneapolis for its permanent North American headquarters, Sycor Americas Inc. has decided to relocate here. With the help of a $360,000 incentive package, the US arm of Gottingen, Germany-based Sycor GmbH will relocate from Three Penn Center West to larger quarters at One Penn Center West this May.

The information technology consulting firm opened a one-person office here in 2005. The relocation begins with 2,549 sf of office space with room to expand. James Marczak, the company’s president and CEO, says it plans to increase its North American labor force to more than 100 by 2009.
