The largest, $2-million in PIDA funding, is granted to the Centre County Industrial Development Corp. to develop more than 134 acres for the Rockview Business Park in Benner Twp. The land along I 99 and Rte. 150 near Penn State University is the former site of Rockville State Correctional Institution, which was transferred by the state in 2005.

At that time the state provided $175,000 in predevelopment grants. The site is being transformed into a light and heavy industrial complex. The total project cost is estimated at more than $5.3 million. According to Benner Twp. meeting records, a potential tenant, locally based Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., has been identified for possible occupancy of a 100,000-sf distribution center on 40 acres in the park.

Philadelphia-based Dijas Capital LLC, the holding company of Irene's Bakery and Gourmet Kitchen Inc., has acquired the 19,060-sf former Fanny May Chocolate Factory in Buck County's Bensalem Twp. According to published reports, it paid in excess of $1 million for the 28-year-old building. The $436,000 PIDA loan will fund renovation, and the company plans to be operational at the new facility this July.
