Janko Buys Land Near Abbott Campus Project

BRISTOL, WI-The Janko Group has purchased a 153-acre land parcel here to plan a mixed-use development, a project that would go up alongside the much larger campus planned by Abbott Labs. The pharmaceutical company owns a 500-acre site west of Interstate 94, between County Trunk Highways C and Q in Pleasant Prairie.

Abbott has asked the village to consider a planned development district for a gated, campus-like complex for uses centered on healthcare and pharmaceutical research and development, including related business offices, that would not be open to the public. The site would accommodate 12,000 workers, according to village officials, and would include the construction of a new fire station and water tower.

The Janko Group is in the preliminary stages of deciding how to use its land, with plans including retail, office and light industrial, says Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler Land Group senior associate Anne Dempsey. She arranged the sale, purchased from various farmers, on behalf of Gary Janko, but says she cannot divulge the land price.
