The 14-story building with a penthouse on top was designed by George Applegarth. It features Renaissance/Baroque ornamentation small floor plates and views. New Urban chief Tom Owens says he believes the building to be one of the best historic buildings in the city due to its superior location and full renovation in 2001. "As we like to say, this classic building has great bones," Owens says.
The seller was Leslie Tang Shillings' LTDD Inc. LTDD purchased the building from Rawson, Blum & Co. in 2003 for $16 million.
The asset is the fifth historic building New Urban has acquired in San Francisco. Its other holdings include 332 Pine St., 354 Pine St., 580 Market St. and 74 New Montgomery St., all of which were originally built between 1907 and 1923.
