HomeMade Pizza More Than Doubles Locations

CHICAGO-HomeMade Pizza Co., based here, has recently opened six new locations with plans for six more to be opened. Once the additional six are opened, HomeMade Pizza will have a total of 17 locations, says Kim McGuire, SVP of Northern Realty Group Inc. “It is a very aggressive expansion program,” he says. McGuire oversaw the expansion program for the chain.

The company sells pizzas that are made to order but that the customer cooks at home, McGuire says. “It is a unique concept,” he says. Salads and cookies are also for sale at the locations but there are no ovens in its locations or tables, he says.

HomeMade Pizza was founded by Chicago entrepreneurs Eric and Audrey Fosse and opened its first location in the Lake View community of Chicago in 1997. “They got an infusion of some private venture capital money and they want to grow the concept,” McGuire says. There will not be any major changes to the way the company operates the locations. “It is still going to work the same way. It is still going to be a carry-out concept,” he says.
