BATAVIA, IL-Ball Corp., with corporate headquarters in Broomfield, CO, is expanding its space by 99,200 sf at 121 N. Raddant Rd. The corporation now leases 243,200 sf, which it uses for warehousing and distribution of food and beverage containers, says Don Schoenheider, vice president and city manager for Liberty Property Trust. Liberty owns the building.
Ball's plastic container group leases the space in the building for distribution of finished products such as squeeze-bottles for Heinz ketchup and mustard, and containers for Arizona Iced Tea, Schoenheider says. Alcan Packaging's plastic division had leased the space for about five years and was purchased by Ball Corp last year. Ball was able to expand after PPG Industries moved from the building to a newly constructed build-to suit building at 801 Bilter Rd. in Aurora.
The length of the lease is "three to five years," Schoenheider says. The asking rate for the building is $3.95 per sf net. The building is now 100% occupied with the other tenant being Valley Fire Protection Systems, a sprinkler contractor, he says.
