IDI Constructs 103,000-SF Facility at $130M Park

BOLINGBROOK, IL-IDI, based in Atlanta, is building a 102,936-sf speculative distribution facility as part of its $130-million Bolingbrook Corporate Center, south of I-55 at the intersection of Route 53 and Crossroads Parkway. The estimated value of Bolingbrook Corporate Center Building 4, located at 175 E. Crossroads Pkwy., is approximately $9 million, says Tom George, senior vice president and regional development officer for IDI.

The building is designed with many “green” features, say IDI officials. The 8.4-acre site will have 2.3 acres that will be green space, including a rain garden, which will be located next to the parking lot, says Matt Kurucz, IDI development manager. The garden, which will have native plants with deep root systems such as wildflowers, is designed to reduce the amount of rainwater that goes into the storm water system, and also help remove contaminants of the water entering the storm system, he says. “Less water will actually leave our site, and the water that leaves it is cleaner,” George says.
