HARRISON, NJ-The Harrison MetroCentre has been given site plan approval from the town for horizontal infrastructure–roadways and utilities–with a January 2008 start date. The news comes just as the last building on the 35-acre site has been razed by Mazzocchi Wrecking.

With the old industrial structures out of the way, demolition for the project is 75% done. Much of the work the past few months has been testing soil samples for accordance with brownfield remediation, a spokesman tells GlobeSt.com.

The billion-dollar, mixed-use project is a public/private partnership between the township of Harrison and Bedminster-based Advance Realty Development.
