Financial District Landmark Hits the Block

BOSTON-Co-owners Frank De Pasquale and Jackson Gatemen are well known in Boston's culinary and entertainment circles.

BOSTON-A historic Financial District building featuring a mix of entertainment venues and the acclaimed Umbria Ristorante is up for sale, officials for co-owner Frank De Pasquale have acknowledged. The five-story property at 295 Franklin St. is being listed by the Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT office in Boston’s North End. Besides De Pasquale, who also owns Umbria, club operator Jackson Gateman has a stake in the building, according to documents on file at the Suffolk County Registry of Deeds.

Efforts to contact De Pasquale and Gateman were unsuccessful. A Coldwell Banker broker tells GlobeSt.com that the restaurateur is traveling in his native Italy until later this week. Calls to De Pasquale’s establishment yielded a similar response from a spokesman who acknowledges the property is being marketed, but would not discuss pricing or other aspects. The spokesman also declined a request to provide his name.
