The players being brought into the fold are a varied group with specialization coming from leasing and sales and focusing on office, industrial, retail, multifamily and land deals. The new team will be headquartered in University Towne Center.
Among the big catches is Jay Diskin, former founder and president of GVA IPC and Charles Currey, former principal and executive vice president of GVA IPC. The two have a combined nearly 60 years of real estate experience.
Diskin describes why he made the move by pointing to Sperry Van Ness' national coverage of specialists and marketing platform. Diskin adds that SVN will provide a value play to his team and to the clients.
For Sperry Van Ness, it picks up an established team in the San Diego market. GVA IPC has been a regular top 10 brokerage firm in the area over the past decade. The firm has regularly closed on average more than 225 leases per year.
According to Jerry Anderson, CEO of Sperry Van Ness International, "this expansion is in line with our goal this year of focusing on expanding landlord and tenant rep services and opening new offices in major markets throughout the US."
