Leydig Expands to 70,000 SF at Prudential

CHICAGO-The Prudential Plaza is 91% leased, an increase from 81% when the building was acquired by Bentley Forbes in 2006.

CHICAGO-Leydig Voit & Mayer, a law firm, has renewed its lease and is expanding by about 13,500 sf to occupy a total of 70,408 sf at Two Prudential Plaza. The two-building Plaza, which has a total of 2.2 million sf, is owned and managed by Los Angeles-based BentleyForbes, which acquired the buildings last year for $470 million.

Bill Rogers, with Jones Lang LaSalle, and Goldie Wolfe-Miller, with Millbrook Corporate Real Estate Services, represented the law firm in the lease transaction. Andrea Saewitz and Lauren Alexander, both with J.F. McKinney & Associates, represented BentleyForbes in the transaction.

The term of the lease for Leydig Voit & Meyer is 15 years. The firm’s current lease was until 2010, says David Cobb, president and CEO of Bentley Forbes. The law firm will now occupy space on five floors of the 64-story building at180 N. Stetson Ave. Leydig Voit & Mayer have been tenants in the building for between 20 and 25 years, Cobb says. The lease renewal included a tenant improvement allowance.
