"SMG's specialized real estate services provided through our new Strategy Group are designed to assist our clients leverage their real estate holdings for a stronger balance sheet."

Barovick and Kulik, who are nationally recognized for their work in the real estate arena, join SMG from HelixGlobal, a business and real estate advisory firm they co-founded to deliver strategy, capital markets and implementation solutions to businesses with underlying value in real estate. Previously, Barovick was CEO of Grubb & Ellis. He also worked as global director of corporate real estate advisory services at Ernst & Young.

Prior to establishing HelixGlobal, Kulik was chief strategy officer at Grubb & Ellis. Previously, she held senior executive positions at national real estate firms where she led the implementation of strategic operating solutions and real estate portfolio development.
