Interior Design Firms Grab Long Island Leases

SYOSSET, NY-Interior design world players Stark Carpet Corp. and Duralee Fabrics have leased showroom space at 125 Michael Dr. in this Nassau County community. Financial terms of the lease were not disclosed to GlobeSt.com. Long Island City-based Sholom & Zuckerbrot Realty LLC was the exclusive managing and leasing agent for the building.

Stark Carpet, an international company specializing in custom-designed carpet, fabric, furniture and wallcovering for both the residential and contract markets, took 5,800 sf of showroom space on the ground floor. Duralee Fabrics, a family-owned and -operated company providing fabrics, trimmings and furniture, will occupy 5,400 sf, also on the ground floor. An unidentified source tells GlobeSt.com that rents are between $24 and $32 per sf in the Jericho/Syosset market.

“It’s noteworthy that both Stark and Duralee have showroom locations in the prestigious Decorators and Designers Building in Midtown Manhattan,” Franklin Zuckerbrot, leasing agent for the building, points out. “The fact that these two high-end brand names chose to expand at the same location in Nassau County is testament to the attractions of the building and of the neighborhood.”
