DURHAM, NC-Local developer Scientific Properties is finishing the land-purchasing process for its $155-million Heritage Square mixed-use project and is looking for an additional developer to help it with its retail portion. Management has hired real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle in its search for assistance on the project’s 325,000-sf retail-entertainment component.

Management expects to close on the 9.6-acre Heritage Square site, at Fayetteville Road and Lakewood Avenue, Oct. 15 to make way for the development, which totals 780,000 sf. The project, to break ground in the spring, will also feature 235,000 sf of offices and 220,000 sf of rental and for-sale residential units.
