IRVINE, CA-R.D. Olson Development has debuted the newest Marriott Residence Inn in Southern California, a 125-suite property that the Irvine-based company developed for $23 million at Ocean Ranch in Oceanside, and has signed Marriott to manage the new property. The new hotel sits on a three-acre site that R.D. Olson bought for $2.4 million in 2006 and is part of the Ocean Ranch mixed-use master-planned community.

The new property is Marriott’s newest prototype for the extended stay market, notes Robert Olson, CEO and president of R.D. Olson Development. He points out that the design expands upon the concept of extended-stay accommodations by incorporating quality furnishings along with new technology such as plasma televisions, wireless and hard-wired Internet access and other features.
