"One of the prime topics of interest is going to be what's happening in the multifamily market because that impacts other sectors," says Real Estate Media conference producer Jason Young. The conference will be held in the Biltmore Hotel at 1200 Anastasia Ave.
About 250 to 300 participants are expected to attend the half-day event, sponsored by Real Estate Media. It will be kicked off with a networking luncheon followed by a town hall meeting during which industry experts will discuss the latest trends in South Florida's real estate market.
With strong population and job growth, Florida's commercial real estate market continues to attract attention. But, while office vacancies continue to decrease and rents continue to rise, the cost of living has soared in recent years and affordability has become a major issue.
Afternoon breakout sessions will provide insight to a variety of hot topics, including the region's industrial market, which has seen strong growth in recent years. The capital markets go under review in another session as professionals offer insight and tips to weathering the sea change. Other sessions include "Who's Buying, Selling and Why: Getting Deals Done in the Upside Down Investment Market" and "Outlook for Leasing, Investment & Development in the South Florida Office Market."
At the general session, a panel of experts will discuss the implications of the 70,000 condominiums that are expected to come to the market in the next two to three years. The discussion will delve into who is expected to buy properties and the market consequences if units do not sell.
The event will wrap up with a reception for Real Estate Florida magazine, the newest addition to the Real Estate Media group. The second issue publishes in November. The RealShare conference series is produced by Real Estate Media, which also publishes GlobeSt.com and Real Estate Forum.
